ABOUT JON HOLLOWAY
I’m Jon Holloway — a photographer and videographer with over twenty years’ experience working across portraiture, campaigns, editorial, and events.
I take a calm, collaborative approach to my work, shaping shoots that deliver strong, considered visual content — on time and on budget.
I work closely with people to understand what they need from a shoot and create work that feels honest, specific, and genuinely useful, whether that’s a single portrait or a larger commissioned project.
HEADSHOTS & PORTRAITS
I work one-to-one with actors, writers, directors, and creatives at every stage of their careers. My portrait work ranges from shooting national treasures such as Jim Broadbent to early-career performers who have gone on to significant critical success in theatre, television, and film, including Aaron Pierre, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, David Moorst and Amit Shah.
Headshot sessions aren’t about performing or forcing a look. They’re about presence, clarity, and creating portraits that feel recognisably you — images that sit comfortably in real casting and professional contexts.
PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY FOR ORGANISATIONS
Alongside portraiture, I work across photography and videography for organisations, agencies, and businesses. This includes campaigns, editorial commissions, events, and short-form film work, from intimate documentary-style shoots to larger-scale productions.
Across both stills and moving image, my work is rooted in real stories and authentic human moments, with a strong focus on clarity, consistency, and delivery.
My work has supported projects for organisations including The BBC, The Royal Opera House, Hampstead Theatre, LAMDA, Santander and Kidney Research UK.
HOW I WORK
All shoots are unhurried and collaborative, with clear direction and space for people to feel at ease in front of the camera.
I also work closely with agencies, design studios, and organisations, developing ideas together to create work that connects with the intended audience — whether that’s for brand storytelling, fundraising, or sales. I shoot in hire studios, on location, or from my own studio, The Holloway Lightbox, in Leyton, depending on what best serves the work.
